Summer Concert.

We have been really excited for a couple weeks now to attend a summer concert put on by our good friends Rob and Melissa (Thanks guys!). It was held in their beautiful backyard, and Rob built the stage. It was a benefit for Liberty. Chris got to perform a couple songs with a very talented family from our church, and he also did an impromptu solo. He rocked the house with a Beatles rendition, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lincoln Park, and John Mayer for the solo. I heard it was great! That's right heard. The girls and I did not get to attend. Liberty went in for a routine CBC exam and she had a fever (dang it!). Poor Lib, we had to stay longer than expected. She needed IV antibiotics and fluids. Thankfully her counts were stable enough that we got to sleep at home. If they had been too low we would have been off the Big Hotel in Aurora: (aka) The Children's Hospital. She did okay for the rest of the weekend with a good temperature, just a lot of fatigue. This week her counts are set to plummet from the last couple of chemo treatments that she's had, so we will be avoiding big groups still, and washing our hands every chance we get! The hard part is almost over, we can almost see the light of "maintenance" at the end of the tunnel.

Oh man, what a bummer to miss such a stellar concert! Glad that you didn't have to hang out at that fancy hotel, though :) Good luck with this week. We can't wait for you to live it up in maintenance! :)

Looks like a really cool benefit! How nice for Rob and Melissa, and fun for Chris. I'm just happy Lib's fever didn't go too long. Did anyone get the concert on video?

Sounds fantastic, wish we could have been there. Maybe Chris could sing a recap for us when we come. We are so excited to see you all.

It was a great concert! Beautiful location and awesome music! We included in the donation box the money that my 7 year old collected for Liberty at his birthday party. We are all rooting for Liberty and praying for her!
