A Grocery List

This is a copy of Liberty's grocery list in March when she was on her first round of high dose steroids. She was craving anything and everything salty. I love that she still wanted a salad. This time around she is on an even higher dose except it's 7 days on 7 days off. The grocery requests were: Baked Sour Cream and Cheddar chips, Broccoli Cheese Soup, more Pickles, and apples. She is doing quite well. We had to delay a treatment because her counts were so low, but we are back on track. Our doctor's appointments are always 3 to 5 hours long, I always tell the nurses that the hardest thing for us is that we can't plan. The other day when we should have been there for only 2 hours, we were there for almost 6. The nurses and I joked that it was a good thing that I didn't plan anything! We can't wait for a solid routine. But until then we just keep plugging along, trying to find the humor in all this. Without laughter we could not make it!

Great, it's 9 pm and now I think I'm going to have to get a salty snack! Lib's got great taste :) I guess you were given the hilarious genes for a reason. I'm sure the nurses look forward to having you guys there. Hmm... maybe that why your appointments are so long, the nurses enjoy your entertaining!

Thanks so much for the update Andrea! You guys are never far from my thoughts and prayers so finding your entry this morning was a treat--though more sweet than salty! My son-in-law still prefers salty snacks to sweet and his treatments ended about 15 years ago. Give Libby a hug for me!

I love her food choices...especially pickles and salad, some of my personal favorites! Keep up the fight, we found humor was one of the best remedies for a bad day. Get a hold of some empty syringes...nurses love a good water fight! Your family is always in our prayers.
